CLADE V

CLADE V is the fifth Latin American Congress on Evangelization, which is convened by the Latin American Theological Fellowship. It is a process of theological reflection, fellowship, confession and celebration of God’s mission in the Latin American context.

Southern Cone conference on Human Trafficking

Tenemos el agrado de invitarlo/a a participar  del  1º ENCUENTRO CRISTIANO SOBRE TRATA Y TRÁFICO DE PERSONAS DEL CONO SUR,  a realizarse entre los días 18 a 21 de junio de 2012, en la ciudad de Villa maría, provincia de Córdoba. Este encuentro se realiza en el marco de la Campaña Latinoamericana y del Caribe, Ama a tu prójimo, buen trato hacia la niñez.
 
Son sus objetivos: contribuir al diálogo y la reflexión bíblico teológica sobre la problemática de la Trata y el tráfico de personas ( TTP); sensibilizar y concientizar a las Iglesias y ONGs cristianas del Cono Sur y otros países, sobre la  TTP; propiciar el intercambio de buenas practicas en el abordaje de la problemática de la TTP; y crear una red de Iglesias y ONGs que trabajen en prevención, acogimiento y acompañamiento a las víctimas de TTP.
 
Esperamos  contar con aproximadamente 45 personas, como pastores, líderes, líderes de jóvenes, adolescentes y / o niños/as, coordinadores de ministerios, miembros de ONGs, y/o miembros de iglesias en general, involucradas  o que deseen involucrase en esta problemática  a fin de conocer e informarnos, mostrar las  diferentes prácticas y reflexionar teológicamente a partir de ellas, enfatizando el compromiso con la misión integral de la iglesia.
Contamos con un presupuesto austero, pero con muchos deseos de  encontrarnos para  compartir experiencias, y asumir un compromiso al respecto. Por esa razón, estamos solicitando que su iglesia u organización apoye a alguna persona que pueda participar en este encuentro cubriendo los gastos de transporte e inscripción.   El costo del Encuentro es de 100 dólares (incluye inscripción, materiales, alojamiento y comidas)
Contamos con un pequeño  fondo de becas o medias becas para estadía, lamentablemente no contamos con becas para pasajes.
Adjuntamos  un archivo con mayor información sobre el Evento, como así también la ficha de inscripción. Encuentro Cristiano sobre Trata y Trafico de Personas

Queremos recordarles que del 18 al 21 de Junio se llevara a cabo el Encuentro Cristiano sobre Trata y Trafico de Personas, muy importante para el Cono Sur.

Hemos ampliado el numero de personas participantes, ya que han superado nuestras expectativas las inscripciones recibidas hasta el momento. Es por ello, que pedimos que todx aquel/la interesadx debe inscribirse cuanto antes.

Creemos que sera una instancia para pensar y reflexionar sobre realidades que están a nuestro alrededor y necesitan de iglesias que se movilicen, sera un ENCUENTRO para compartir, aprender, dialogar, apoyarnos

Muchos miembros de la Red Miqueas en la región en vista que se están sucitando mayores y más frecuentes eventos desastrosos, han manifestado el interés de mancomunar esfuerzos desde la perspectiva de la Misión Integral de la Iglesia, coordinando y cooperando tanto en la respuesta de corto y largo plazo, frente a diferentes situaciones de emergencias, entre ellas, la reciente depresión trópical 12 E en el año 2011. Así como, los efectos de los fenómenos climatológicos “el niño” y “la niña”, ésta última, dando sus primeras manifestaciones en el presente año. Basado en estas situaciones, quisieramos invitar a usted a unirse a nosotros en esta consulta.

Propósitos:

1. Establecer coordinaciones que permitan a las organizaciones cristianas tener un impacto mayor y más efectivo, tanto en el corto y el largo plazo en respuesta a crisis ocasionadas por inundaciones en la región. 2. Explorar posibilidades de hacer frente colectivamente y de mayor impacto ante problemas relacionados a los desastres y al cambio climático que demandan justicia, incidencia y cabildeo.

3. Contestarnos la siguiente pregunta ¿Representa esto una oportunidad para explorar cómo podemos apoyar las respuestas de las iglesias locales? 4. Reflexionar profundamente sobre cómo nuestro compromiso con la misión integral se concreta en el entorno de cambio climático, desastres y otros temas relacionados al contexto de la región.

Resultados previstos:

1.Definidas acciones que aumentan la coordinación, el impacto y la efectividad ante desastres. 2.Identificadas las sinergias y establecidos procesos de comunicación permanente ante temas de incidencia y cabildeo relacionados al cambio climático y los desastres. 3.Comprometidos con un proceso de aprendizaje continuo sobre acciones concretas de la misión integral ante el cambio climático y los desastres.

Sumumpaya Community Centre, Cochabamba

BOLIVIA: Sumumpaya Community Centre

The leaders of this project – Gwen (Scottish) & Marcos (Bolivian) Quinteros are committed to a pattern of integral church, seeking to meet the varied needs of a poor community and building ‘church’ into everything they offer. It is a model of incarnational mission appropriate to many locations.

They are doing this by (a) living amongst the people they serve and (b) setting up and developing a new community centre in the barrio of Sumumpaya, on the western edge of Cochabamba. All of their community provision happens in the context of running a new and growing church at the centre of the barrio – for that’s exactly where the Centre and sports hall are built (see www.integralchurch.co.uk).

As at March 2012 the Centre is operating these community provisions :

A school support group – providing help with homework and other educational issues.

Women’s group – they do activities together like knitting, cooking etc; but the real value of this group is for them simply to ‘be together’, something which is not part of their usual life pattern.

Dental services – on 1/2 days a week

Medical services – currently offering ad hoc programs such as a vaccination campaign, but hoping to become a weekly clinic before long. Gwen also runs a cancer awareness program – the need for smears, self-checking and mammograms – for she herself had breast cancer aged 30.

English lessons – it is generally accepted (even by people in Sumumpaya) that to have some command of English is an advantage in terms of getting a worthwhile job in today’s global world where English is the most commonly used language.

PEPE (Pre-escular programa educacion). PEPE is an education programme for pre-schoolers and as begun by BMS workers in 1992 in Brazil with just 12 children. It has now spread to six other Latin American countries and five countries in Africa. In Sumumpaya it has really grabbed the imagination and attention of many families in the community, who see it as a valuable, safe and effective setting in which their chuildren can grow in ability, confidence, skills, and spirituality. It is heavily oversubscribed. Gwen leads this group, but also co-ordinates the work of five other PEPE groups in the city and many other churches are interested in setting up PEPEs in their locality.So it is spreading – simply because it has worth and integrity and value to individuals and to the community as a whole.

Psychological testing – to diagnose children’s educational and developmental needs as a prelude to taking action to address those needs on an individual basis.

Youth nights – the same the world over, noisy, energetic and fun.

Football – training sessions for fitness and enjoyment and skills development. And there is now an official La Corona football team, playing in a local Christian football league.

The large sports hall – used for volleyball and basketball – and other community groups hire it for a variety of purposes.

The Hope Gymnasium – used regularly by over 40 young people from the barrio.

Red Viva – the Centre is now also affiliated to this international child-focused organisation, part of the Viva Network.

Church (Iglesia ‘La Corona’) – continues to be The central point, the hub of their ministry. It is from here that everything else originates – a true example of integrated mission at work. Currently there are baptism classes and Marcos has trialled Alpha.

In 2012 we want to continue to grow this global movement, uniting even more people in praying for an end to poverty.
