Umoja transforms lives. Sam from Uganda had many reasons to be bitter about life.  Born with a twisted leg, recently widowed, he says ‘being disabled in our community was no joke, you were seen as a beggar’.   Inspired by the Umoja process he has cultivated 170 orange trees thus increasing his income tenfold.  Now he is full of joy and hope for the future.

As a result of Umoja his community now accepts people living with HIV and welcomes refugees, education has improved and relationships have been restored with the church now at the centre of community life.

We would love to see thousands and thousands of churches across the world bringing transforming light to their communities so that it looks like the photo above.  The churches’ passion, commitment to relationships and spiritual hope makes transformation possible.

We are a movement called Friends of Umoja.  Umoja is a highly effective approach to help churches work with their communities to bring transformation using their own resources.  In the stories you’ll see some examples of the resulting changed lives.

We want you to join us in prayer and to use the resources.  Join us and let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matt 5: 16)
